In Memory of Allan D. Affleck

Allan died peacefully at the age of 85 on May 15, 2026, at his residence in Skyline, Seattle, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne; their four children, Christine (Richard) Harris, Heather (Miguel) Ortega, Daryl (Kelly) Affleck and Rob (Brandy) Affleck. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Allan was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. One of his great honors was to be elected President of that organization in 1989, after having served on its Board of Governors for five years. Most of his working life was spent with Milliman, Inc., a large international consulting firm. He served on Milliman’s Board of Directors and was National Director of the firm’s life insurance practice for several years. In 1990 Anne and Allan moved to Tokyo to open the firm’s first office in Asia. They lived in Japan for eight years. While there, Allan helped open additional offices for the firm in Korea and Hong Kong.
