Tali Sharot, Author, Neuroscientist and Authority on Human Behavior
Dr. Tali Sharot is an award-winning author, acclaimed professor, and one of the leading experts on decision-making, influence, and human behavior. She serves on the faculty of MIT and UCL, where she directs the Affective Brain Lab, and her research has helped organizations and governments improve leadership, communication, and well-being.
Dr. Ashwin Vasan, Senior Fellow in Health Policy and Global Affairs, Yale University; Venture Partner, Commonweal; Former New York City Health Commissioner
Dr. Ashwin Vasan is a physician and epidemiologist who most recently served as the 44th Health Commissioner of New York City, leading bold efforts to advance prevention, equity, and population health. He spearheaded transformative initiatives, including the landmark HealthyNYC agenda, to reverse declines in life expectancy and address widening health inequities in the wake of COVID-19.

**Guest Fee
The SOA provides a variety of registration options for guests of attendees. One guest per member registrant is allowed. A significant other, friend or family member of the attendee who is over the age of 18 is considered a guest (or non-business affiliate). Members of an actuarial organization and recruiters are not considered guests and must register at the appropriate member fee listed above. Guest fee does not include attendance at sessions or luncheons.
Special Meal Requests
If you require a Kosher or Halal meal, please send an email to soameetings@soa.org no later than two weeks prior to the start date of the meeting to ensure your request is accommodated. Requests received within two weeks of the meeting start date cannot be guaranteed.

The Marriott Marquis Washington, DC is closest to Reagan National Airport (DCA), located 5 miles away, and Dulles International Airport (IAD), located 26 miles away.
Confirmations
Confirmation of your hotel reservation is issued by the hotel. If you have not received a confirmation number prior to your departure for Washington, DC, please call the hotel at 202-824-9200 to make sure your reservation has been received.
Early Departures
During check-in, all guests will need to verify their departure date. At that time, you may change your departure date without penalty. Any guest who departs before the confirmed departure date may be charged an early departure fee.
Cancellations
Reservations must be canceled 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid a one night’s room and tax charge.
